Recess Brewing is a craft brewery on Edwardsville’s Historic Main Street. The original owner relocated and when a town favorite purchased the brewery, it was time to update the brand, the interior space and to re-craft their beer expressions. Our direction was inspired by breweries we love all over the country.

We developed a brand that matched the warmth of the red brick interior. A mark and typography that appeared as a lived in, established institution that had been there for years. A simple, clean upscale badge, with ornate lettering, and dark, matte and metallic tones. A casual, but refined new image.

The new branding along with new interior features and expanded beer selection is attracting more patrons and newer ones who had not tried it before. This is a new case study, so we will check back for updated results with the ownership soon.
